Will an LSD from and E28 M535 fit an E9 coupe as a direct replacement?

You might try this , Aardvark racing. Bought some spacers to fit the diff on my 02 from him, good guy. He would probably know.

It isn't a direct replacement. The E28 diff is known as a front-loader, while the E9 diffs are known as side-loaders. This is due to how the unit is assembled. (E9 units, unbolt a side of the diff, laer diffs open via the back)

I am not sure if the internals are swappable, but I really doubt it.
