When we began to prep the Luigi CSL for the upcoming Sonoma Historics we found oil in the water. Jim investigated further and found that the head on the car was cracked. Because of its age and uniqueness we decided to put it on the shelf and build a new head for the car.
The used up head has a 1973 date stamp, and it is a FI head, so we are pretty sure it is the original head for the car. 1973 FI heads were pretty rare items and not used that early on street cars.
Terry Tinney has been feverishly working away in his shop, and here are the results. Head will ship back up to us on Monday, and go back on the car in time for Sonoma:
