I have very much enjoyed the Forum for some time. I thought that since I did not own a coupe and one was not in my foreseeable future, I would have nothing to contribute.

However since I seem to truly love the cars, am trying to educate myself and am at the point that I even check the forum at work between seeing clients, I might as well say hello.

Next year I will have the expense of 3 children in College for several years -right now I have enough money for some Cocomats and that is about it. And my wife points out that I do have an e36 M3 and an e39 with the 2003 M Sport package as play cars.

I am embarrassed to say that I have no mechanical ability whatsoever and have a very excellent BMW shop in Branford CT do all my work- but I am a pretty good fisherman- hence my user name.

I am amazed at how knowledgeable you fellows are. I hope to get to the point that I can look at a restoration and find even half the issues you can see blindfolded.

I can contribute by showing coupes for sale with no affiliation- as I pass the time some nights viewing listings from the UK, Brussels, Netherlands, all over.

Keep up the good work and maybe someday with your advice when I arrive at a BMW CCA CT Valley Chapter event- I will arrive in style.

My dad once said, "any job is easy if you have the right tool, me, I have one tool" at that point he pulled out his checkbook and said "works for everything"!

I would love to visit and do some fly fishing!

Great intro - well expressed. I look forward to when you swap one of your play cars for your new e9 when you can't stand the fever any longer

When the time comes, Ward Jennings of the eponymous shop in Southport was very helpful in looking over my car, which I bought long distance from an owner in New Canaan. I have had and e36 m3 coupe and sedan (Estoril Blue, should have kept that one).

im also eager to be a cs owner, just waiting to sell my 850 which has become a real hassle to own. since the only way ive seen this car in the past 10 years is like that!!!

Welcome! It would be great to have another coupe cruising in the Northeast.
You might want to add a few lines about what you're looking for, you never know if a matching car could be lurking...

and, @ KMS, OUCH! Look on the bright side, at least its out on the road!

Four years since my first and last post. Time goes by in the blink of an eye. Put three good kids through college. Grad school will be on them.

I suppose if I choose not to pay 3 tuitions , I could have bought two fully restored CSL's oh well

I recently started serious lurking here again but If Coupes were the Boy Scouts, I am still a tenderfoot.

Very frustrating to not have the mechanical ability or knowledge necessary to work on them or even to see problems.

So the next expense is my wife is doing over the master bath- and then I could be ready to coupe.

Hopefully my next post won't be four years from now.

Great place to visit here and I really enjoy the discussions and critiques.

White 72 CSi in New Jersey just came on eBay - looks nice to me. A members's coupe?

The mechanical ability and INability, like mine, covers the entire spectrum and beyond. To add to Stan's comment, you need only two things to own a coupe, that checkbook and what you already have, an excellent mechanic. Add the wisdom, knowledge and experience of this board and you can't go wrong.

Welcome, Steve

Welcome to the group.

You are not alone - I purchased one of the old 'CS Registry' grill badges from Art several years before I got the car to put it on.
In fact, I found the car here on this forum.

One good thing about a project car is that you can work on them yourself even without knowledge. Start with easy things like a front brake pad swap and build up your confidence. If you hit a snag, you can always tow it to the mechanic.

I don't consider myself a pioneer. With work and play, I generally operate under the assumption that everything that I attempt has been done before. Furthermore passionate individual has already blogged about it or created a YouTube video. :)
