M30 Rocker Shafts

I just received some new valve train parts. The rear intake rocker shaft appears to have the plug threaded into the wrong (inboard) end. The other three shafts are plugged correctly (outboard). Seems wrong, but perhaps BMW tweaked the design to improve oil flow? Anyone know anything about this? What about removal?
 
Seems wrong, I agree. I don't think anything's changed.

The purpose of the plug is so you can slide hammer the shaft out after you've cleaned it the very best you can.
