I have an e23 m30b34 that is going in my 2800 -71
Will i need to change the oil pan, same as engines from E34?

Anything else that is different from m30b35? Same wiring harness etc?

You will need to use your old coupe oil pan otherwise it won’t clear the subframe. You will also need to modify your oil pump pick up, as I remember use the old front part and mate to the later rear part, you may need to double check this as it was a while ago when I did mine. Sorry can’t help with wiring as went with custom.

actually the B 34 pan will fit its the B35 pan that has the sump in the wrong place

I’m confused... you have a e9 getting an e23 Engine.
Where does the m30b35 come in? Are you using Motronic 1.3?

Thank you for the replies :)

I have a e9, 2800 -71. I have a donor car that is a 735 -83 equipped with an M30B34 motronic 1,1.

From earlier posts i have come to understand that the M30B35 used in the E34 require a change of oil pan and pickup. My question was if i needed to change oil pan on this engine also.
The second part is a question regarding if there is anything else that is different from the swap to a M30B35 (that there are many threads regarding) or to a M30B34 (with no threads...)

Sorry if i have been unclear :)

Don can confirm, but I think you can adapt 1.3 Motronic on a B34??? If so, that's the route I would take.
