Is there an outlet on the head of the final m30b35 straight six to run the hot water through the heater core, or do you have to jerry rig something?

This engine is basically the same as "original" engines in the coupe thus there should be two connections for the heater.
At the back of the cylinder head up against the bulkhead (firewall) there should be a housing that bolts on with the tube pointing towards the RHS of the car looking from the front.
This is one hose connection for the heater core.
The other connection, about 1" in diameter, is at the back of the water pump. It runs under the intake manifold/carbs and has at least 1 "tee" in it to connect to the expansion tank.
Sometimes this pipe is metal, with connections for the FI system. Of note is that on my now departed E28 M535 this connection was a long rubber hose with a tee for the expansion tank.
Thus you should be able to put something together without too much "bodging"

Hope this helps
Malc
