When I was waiting for a good news that engine is finally completed. Couple days ago, I got bad news from engine mechanic... so just when I though I was out problems pulled me back in...

Mission is to restoring STOCK ENGINE 3.0cs
I bought and bring everything needed
1- used good condition engine head
2- used good condition engine crankshaft (purchased 3 and returned 2 to find a good one)
3- Already brought new pistons from Vac motorsports usa costs over 1k
Bore size is 89.50 Compression ratio standard.
4- Other stuff like everything in the engine head and block, brand new oil pump etc.

Now I am told somewhere in my engine block there is crack damage whatever... It is in the picture.

I am told that it is fixable with cylinder "covers" something like this.

but if we can find a good used block would be better after all that investment on a stock M30B30 engine. However I am not able to find M30b30 block but maybe there is a m30 b35 block available.

Now I have 2 questions first is technical other one is your opinion.
1- Can I put m30b35 block and use everything I got especially pistons ?
I found this in my search but I need clear answer I am really an expert on engine stuff.

2-Is it really a bad point to have b35 block which is not stock obviously. Until now I am trying to do everything stock. Just give your opinion about it.

Yep, crack between the water channel and the head bolt hole, also looks like someone welded up another similar crack or several, before.
Unfortunately you can't use B30 89mm pistons in a B35 which uses 92mm pistons.

Are you sure your current head is good? What year is casted on it? The cast is located on the intake side.

Current head was not good so I bought a good used one. We did a water test before buying it.

Okay, that's the -82 or newer head, which is better than all the pre -82 heads (less prone to cracking). There's dimples visible, so it's not shaved too much and still within spec.
If you could provide the year casting, it would be easier to know which head it is, and if it would fit on a B35.

Somebody tightened head bolts that still had oil in them.
Block is junk I think.
How about Muscat Oman? I think there may be a block there for you.
Just finished harness for b35 job there. I can ask if available.
