Switched over the Weber 32/36s and all of the plumbing and just fired it up for the first time. I took a few minutes dialing in timing and idle mixture and it runs like a sewing machine. I'm out three turns on the mixture screws, so it looks like I'll need richer idle jets. The engine revs freely and sounds great. Just gotta connect the 5-speed to the driveshaft and the car will be ready to drive.

Yeah... I considered that. All gaskets and hoses are new and gone through. I can't think of where a vacuum leak may have developed, but I'll be looking into that.

Actually... I'm starting to think that a vacuum leak is unlikely. Since each carb and manifold is completely independent of the other, a vacuum leak should only affect three cylinders at a time. I'm currently getting a perfect idle with each carb set exactly the same way.

Just an update...

The idle jets I ordered came in today. I got 65/70/75 primaries, and 60/65 secondaries. I tried a 65 primary, 60 secondary combination first (the leanest of the ones I purchased), and it was perfect. I'm 2 turns out on the volume screws as opposed to 3 1/4 with the 55/50 idle jets I started with.
