Can any one tell me if any of the E12 M535i front suspension is interchangeable with my 1973 CSL? looks the same but not 100%, antiroll bar looks thicker ,but legs etc look same.
Thanks Quarry.

E12 M535i have 24 mm bar. http://bmwfans.info/part-31351113024/

E9 standard bar should be 17 mm. http://bmwfans.info/part-31351103000/

E3 have an 23 mm bar on some cars. http://bmwfans.info/part-31351111983/
And 19 mm on some. http://bmwfans.info/part-31351103021/

I'm not sure but they maybe interchange.

Front axle support are the same on E3 and E9. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=31111110230&showus=on&showeur=on

E12 and early E24 are the same. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?part=31111114424&showus=on&showeur=on

I don't know what differs.

Front uprigthts look identical but sadly aren't, they will fit but you will have positive camber as the stub axle is at a slightly different angle. I think the front anti roll bar will fit but you'll need the rubber bushes to fit it to the subframe, the rear anti rollbar is a definate swap and I belive (but am not 100%) that the entire rear subframe can be transfered over to give you a wider rear track. Only problem if you do that is you'll need a non standard off set when fitting wider (ie staggered Alpina's) rear wheels.
