To start, my M90 has been rebuilt . Bored, hi comp pistons from Diamond Racing Pistons at 10:1 possibly 10.5:1 depending on how much the head was milled, porting etc and a 284 cam. I have only put about 500 miles on it and trying to find any goblins in the whole car. I am just getting used to the dogleg and not down shifting into 1st so I use the 4 speeds and only go into 1st when stopped or barely stopped. Shifting is a bit notchy but I like that. As to the 284 cam, it burbles nicely with the Billy Boat exhaust system 2" all the way through, and makes a bearable amount of noise at speed and no smog stuff. I get a lot of looks as people are not used to this from a BMW .In AZ with classic car insurance or a pre 80 car, smog crap is waived or out of Maricopa County. The cam doesn't really start doing it's thing until about 2500RPM and then takes off like a scalded cat. All in all I am happily smiling when I put my foot into it. . Another 500 miles and I will put it on a dyno
