Newbie living outside of Boston. Joined because I'm looking to buy a 73 CSI in the future. Was wondering if there are any coupe owners who live close to me I could connect with?

don't forget Stan and his gr8white ... just over the border in NH. also, and John Feng in Boston. Steve, you need to get to know Mario at VSR. he is an amazing resource.

Mario has one or two coupes at his shop on consignment I believe...

The goal of the current owner is to have a weekend cruising car that is as reliable and fun to drive as any modern sports car. Purchased in 2011, suspension, mechanical and electrical upgrades and rebuilds to make this goal a reality have been completed. All suspension bushings, springs and shocks have been replaced with new; rebuilt brake calipers and new vented rotors have been fitted; the complete A/C system and radiator have been replaced with new units; all engine electrical or mechanical components have been tested and many replaced; all interior electrical components including window switches, ignition switch, head light switch, driving light switch and rear window defroster switch have been replaced. The front seats have been re-fitted and reupholstered. All wood dash and door trim has been refinished. European headlights and driving lights with plus 50 bulbs have been installed. All engine and cabin sound insulation is intact. New inertia style seat belts have been installed. A multiport electric outlet was added in the glove box for modern devices. And the car comes with a complete tool kit.

I was just in Quincy last week picking up a 2007 X3 from a small dealer on Howard St., All Motors Group.

Nice! I've heard of it before... There's quite a few smaller German dealerships around the area. I'm sure you found yourself a nice car!

Be careful about that "as fun" statement. If you're looking for performance ... it's
not going to happen with an old car. You have to embrace the oldness of these cars or else you'll be disappointed. A 2015 Hyundai or Honda sedan will blow you away in acceleration, handling and braking unless you spend lots of cash to upgrade the E9.

Wellesly

I live in Wellesley.

I bought Paul Brigg's E9, which resided in Wellesley (over by Wellesley Kitches on Rte 9).
So, we're kinda neighbors (I'm in Sudbury).

Decide how much money you really have to spend, get ready to spend it, then call Mario at VSR1.

John
