I broke the dip control switch on my Bav while I was up in Redding last weekend. Had to jumper a couple of wires to get the lights to work on the way back. Local salvagers had none and new ones cost a nominal egg if you can figure out which one you need.

Went to Radio Shack and got a DPDT on-on toggle switch for $4. I ground the handle down until it was smaller than my original stalk and staked the toggle so it won't rotate. I epoxied the toggle switch inside the original metal housing and hooked up the wires. I drilled out the stalk and fitted it over the toggle and it looks original when the covers are installed. JB Weld is wonderful.

I lost the ability to flash the brights, so I think I'll diode steer the horn relay to also flash the brights.
