Hi All,
Just starting a total restore. Have pulled the fenders off and as expected, serious decay found. I am aware of Larsen Architect's excellent record of his restoration, but can anyone point me to step by step instructions of how to dismantle and replace the bottom of the a pillars, the sills and the frames under the front shock mounting plates etc. I'm located in Sydney.
Thanks again
Brett Phillips

Hullo, I have recently replaced sills, floors, lower front guards, ect, in my 74 cs, I am also located in Sydney, and will have a look if you like.
Burky.

Wow Great pics, that CSL was hiding quite a bit. Had VSR in Bow NH do the work on my CSi. My passenger side rocker panel was rebuilt from the A pillar to the rear wheel well. It looked similar to yours.

Hi this is not a step by step instruction, but there are quite a few pictures in this link of repairs similar to what you're facing, and may be of help.

It's a long and expensive process!

All the best.

Thanks

Thanks again for your responses. Any additional info, especially specific instructions (critical measurements etc) would be appreciated.
Burky, I'll get in touch.

Brett

If you have the blue folders there are body measurements in there - diagonal pillar to pillar etc.

Looks like a few of us are doing big restos here in OZ. In a few years we should a national meet. Let's do it on the Gold Coast, around July August........when it doesn't rain.

Thanks Gazz,
Sounds like a great idea.
Yes, I've checked out the dimensions. All perfect, except one measurement that (if I remember correctly) went from the right rear suspension mount to the left front chassis rail..... It was 20mm out, but I marked out all other points along the body and the intersections were all straight down the middle... Bit of a mystery to me ?

Brett

dimensions from the blue books?

Hi Gazz, BPhil,

you both are refering to the blue books for dimensions. I am taking out my sills, and i've (already) welded in a subframe to keep some structural integrity.

I'd like to know these dimensions to check and control.

Are they available (for sale) somewhere, or perhaps available on the web?

Erik.
