Malaga 1974 3.0 CSa on SFBay CL

Slush box with CSL spoiler, bling and big rear bumper makes for an identity crisis... needs to go one way or another. I'd vote for actually putting the front bumper on, loosing the modern Alpinas, ect and playing up what it actually is- a great late model CSA with working AC and a sunroof.

E911, agree with all of your assessment except the bumpers. I would go to chrome front and rear. And leave the rest alone. $38K still seems a little steep to me. Steve

If I'm not mistaken, I have met this seller not too long ago & I don't think he is a dealer.

My son and I were taking the coupe out to visit a friend who was at a local surgery recuperation facility last May when we passed this coupe, along with about 10 to 12 other American and foreign classics that were just parked on the street on a residential corner lot. You don't see many coupes parked around town too often, unless a particular verona model is at the local gym, so it definitely caught our eye right away.

After our visit with our friend, we returned the same way and stopped and got out to look at what appeared like the assorted classics you would find on the BAT sidebar on any given day. There were about three guys chatting in the driveway next to a very nice older Jag. We didn't want to interrupt them, and they mostly ignored us as we did the car-show thing of just looking at everything parked on the street without being too nosy... The malaga coupe looked pretty nice to my cursory once-over and some of the other cars were in very good shape as well.

Once my son was satisfied that he'd seen everything he wanted to, we hopped back in the coupe and turned around and started down the road. At this point we heard someone giving the loud hey-you whistle as we turned onto the main street, so I turned around and pulled back in front of the driveway and we had a nice conversation with the owner of all these cars. Very friendly guy who owned his own business and just enjoyed collecting cars. Maybe the neighbors finally won the battle on reducing the fleet. I've seen this coupe parked downtown since then and it looked pretty sharp, so may be worth checking out if you're in the market.

This car was in El Granada when I saw it in person and test drove it. The guy had a two car garage with a Porsche in the other bay.

Did it change hands?

How was it?

I passed...

The interior was pretty tired when I saw it. Looked much better in the photos than in person.

The hood, from what I recall, had some paint issue going on with it, but I don't remember exactly what.

I remember there were extra switches installed on the doors, presumably for the interior lights.

It's one of those examples that's not nice enough to justify the asking price and will likely sit until the market catches up to it (assuming it does).

I remember wanting to like it and couldn't...

Just bumping this up. As I came across it again today. Seems like a nice car for the money. Surprised it’s still around.

is your middle name googout googout? Just kidding....

Seriously, and its probably just me but the saturation in the photos makes it almost impossible to assess the condition! Despite that though there is still one photo which has me wondering about fender seam topography

Oh Please... After this many years with the internet we all have become quite good at knowing what to expect from certain cars based on photos and this car looks like it presents quite well.

Everyone is always so quick to bash a car or its condition, but god forbid someone offers a reasonable price for a car.
