As I survey my wonderful little car for possible NLA problem points, the distributor and the D-Jet drive seemed like they might be a problem later.

Mallory lists a replacement distributor for the carbed M30. I had worked with Mallory before on a custom distributor application before which worked out well, so for the heck of it I gave them a call. I talked to Rick Cole in their tech department and he said he would check with their engineers to see if they could add the D-Jetronic trigger to their existing new electronic distributor. I just got an email back saying that they could do it, and it would be $600.

This doesn't seem to bad, of course, assuming it works, for what it is.
Any thoughts out there?
Thanks
Russ

Is the Djet trigger somehow different from the Ljet trigger? Lots of Ljet dizzy still available for less than 600 (ouch) clams!

I thought the L-Jet came off the crank/flywheel? I'm definitely not an expert but I'm pretty sure the D-Jet is unique.

Where's 61Porsche?

I'm up for the $600 dizzy if it works. Along with a possible upgrade to the coil from the same group. Group buy? :-D

Keep us posted

Motronic comes off the crank and Jetronic is dizzy driven.

Cool. Is the Djet and Ljet signal input the same? It is my understanding that the D-jet trigger is a twin set of points, electrical switches, which would provide 2 square wave signals to drive the ECU. Are the D-Jet and LJet dizzys interchangeable. That would would be almost too good to hope for.
Very cool.

Ljet has a spark box in between the dizzy and the coil.
No connection to ECU. There is a dreizahl relais which
is rpm dependent that changes fuel enrichment at the tps.
