Manual gear shift console hole dimension

Would anyone who has a manual gear shift console be able to give me the measurement of the opening?

Is the cut out that is pre routered in the auto shift console (see pic below) the exact dimension for the manual shift boot? And is that the right size for the inner cutout or the outer one that allows the metal ring to tuck the leather shift boot in just a bit as shown in DQs excellent How To?

you can not cut as the pre routered cut, see here proportions,



the precut seems to be equal distance top and bottom, in the manual console there is more material at the top

Jesus, I see what you are saying there.
I would love it if I could get the actual dimensions or a good size photo of the underside of an original/new one taken straight on from which I could deduct the approximate sizes.
