Hey guys,

I’m considering converting my front manual windows to power windows. Since the harness already has the wiring in place, do you recommend going ahead with this upgrade? Has anyone here done the conversion, and what’s your advice?

Manual windows don't stop working randomly & are seconds faster too.
The "Sardine Can" motors tend to get stuck & need a push at times with the comb tool or screwdriver.
The E28 motors are better until they "lose power" but click, it's a big pain to remove or give a push

It wasn't a request.... She had to pay the toll on the bridge every day.... Electric windows were her enemy.

My wife was very smart!
My E9 driver side window is stuck closed, the motor does not get ground and I spend my time reading about Don's wife paying tolls instead of fixing it.

What if she just printed her credit card number and flashed it through the closed window?

That was 20 years ago- there were actually people in the tollbooth back then

Converted to manual from electric many, many moons ago. No regrets. Reliable operation with substantial weight savings.

Remember the days when we had "Reverse Races" Whose windows were the slowest. I remember a first place number: 34 seconds from down to up. My last Coupe was all power to the windows. My current Bavaria is all manual. Would not swap for power if you paid me.
