Hi:
I just received my velour from Turner Motorsports. Exact match to my original 2000CS material. The price at $79.95 per yard seems to be a bit less than other sources. Service was great and arrived in about two weeks. In case you want to know how much is needed I believe 3.5 yards should be just enough.
To save money with my upholsterer I carefully unstitched all the pieces and used them for a pattern. I also had my mother who at 92 is still doing seamstress work and doing it perfectly. I had her do all the verticle inserts,3.0 would be horizontal, using the right foam backing. I than took all the pieces to my upholsterer who finised the work and installed the covers. They look great.
If anyone needs a sanple of the material please PM me your name and address and I will send it out at once.
I am now in the process of doing a complete wood dash set and also covering my dash pad with a very close match of black vinyl.
Sounds like I'm doing my car which in fact is no longer mine. I turned over the title to me son a couple of years ago and hope that one of his daughters whose ages are 7 and 4 will be driving it when they get their license, the other will get his 63 Austin Healy BJ 7 also aq complete restoration.
Waiting to hear for samples.
Have a great evening.

Any pics?

Would love to see some photos. I've received 4 meters of the blue corduroy cloth from BMW and am awaiting an order of blue velour cloth from Doepper in Germany.

It looks great Koopman. I'm not sure what to make of the material though. It looks more like the material that I would refer to as corduroy. On an e9, the vertically (or horizontally) stitched seating and backing surfaces would be sewn to a solid outer strip of dark blue velours (similar to velvet). John. Can you shed light on this?
Also, I can't find anything on the Turner web-site about the velour. Is this a special item from them or available directly from BMW too?...

Thanks, Tom

Velour.

Not sure if you can get it from BMW or not. I think mit came from Germany because of the delivery time. It is the cordiroy material.
I believe I found it on Turner Motorsports on line.

Blue velour

I received 4 meters of the dark blue velour cloth that I ordered from Doepper in Germany yesterday. The blue corduroy cloth I purchased through BMW (part #51 92 1 817 333). Both are a very close/exact match to the original dark blue materials used on my 1974 3.0 csi. They are different than what Kooman used on his 2000CS. I will try to take some pictures of the materials and post them here.

The 2000cs fabric and cord is NOT the same

That's good news John, as I am mostly interested in e9 material. I'd love to see pictures of both materials, when you get a chance....
