MB ABC Pump question

My son replacing ABC pump on his 2003 SL500. Pump has two banjo fittings and their bolts have holes. Do the holes have to be lined up with the supply lines for fluid to flow properly?

But to answer your question no the holes do not need to be lined up for flow reasons.
