Hello,

I just purchased a 73 CSI, the passenger fender has separated at the top near the shock tower. ITs a car from Italy, the import papers came with the car. Its been in Florida for the past 15 + years. It has rust but not to bad.

I searched the forums for the Measurements of the shock towers.
I found a reference to a crash sheet measurements from the Wallothenesh site but it was a dead link. They stated page 172 has the dimensions for the front end.

I am looking for the measurement across the engine compartment, from shock tower to shock tower. Also a triangulation from a point on the firewall.

Does any one have these numbers. I would like to see if the front end has shifted.

Thanks.

Can any one get out a tape measure and from one side to the other.

Then from the center of the firewall at an angle to each shock tower.. Or pick a point.. From a Wiper hub, any set point. I think my passenger side may be a little off.

Thanks

Barry

Barry, I had meant to reply to your query yesterday, so here is the distance from shock tower to shock tower in millimeters (from the factory blue manual): 1122.8+/-1mm. If you like, I can scan the whole diagram (other measurements) later on tonight.

Perfect, Exactly what I needed..
Thanks..

I am rebuilding the front brake calipers on the 2002 this weekend. Next weekend Ill measure the 3.0 CSI and figure out how "off "the car may be,
Then I will have to figure out how to move it back into place and weld in some support.

I dont feel like pulling off the fender and putting in New parts yet. I will do the fender replacement in a year or 2. I still need to finish my 1600 Baur convertible and the Bavaria.
