I bought this siphon (as opposed to gravity) unit from Harbour Freight (not a ...no affiliation...etc) for $40 plus shipping to clean and restore the surface of parts and remove paint/sound proofing material before welding. Very happy with the results and it paid for itself in gas and time by saving me a 3 hour round trip to Calgary and the rent a booth.
I've been using sintered glass - a recycled media different from glass bead and quite cheap at $10 for a 50lb bag. Lots of other choices depending on what you are trying to remove and how aggressive your willing to go.
The label says 3.5cfm @ 50 psi but I've been running it closer to 90psi. The important thing is that your compressor has enough output and working volume so I rent a 7cfm at 90 psi compressor and added a 100 gal tank inline. Working outside is best but I'm putting a vacuum catchment together for work inside the car and with much taping and draping should make a workable dust collector.
