Nay! 4 of my least favorites: 18" rims on an E9, the E39 M5 rims, black rims, and the least of all...stretch tires.

The ad is from Martinez which is in the Bay Area, but in the Sac Craig's list... Nothing unusual about that.
I've never seen the Csl. Anyone in the Bay seen this Coupe?
The only reason for the 94 is for the track, maybe we will see it at the track someday.

I never understood the stretch. It exposes the rim to major curb damage, they are dangerous, and it looks funny. What exactly is the upside?

Wow I am out of touch, never seen "stretch tires" before. Just what you want - driving fast on improperly matched tires/rims! Must be popular with the stance/hammered crowd.

Not a CSL... Coupe showed up at Legends two years back... 74' US CS... Diving boards removed.... Big holes in the front & rear valence from bumper shocks.... CSL sticker & airdam added.... Had Alpinas on it that Don bought last year...It is Taiga though!!

I know the car. Bought a set of wheels from him last year. Nice enough guy- gave my daughter a NIB razor scooter.

That tire is not stretched... 225 is fine on an 8" rim, and even within manufacturer spec for a 9" rim.

As long as we're bashing wheel choices, IMO 16" Alpina's are a heavy, cast, non period correct wheel. And pretty darn expensive considering those downsides.

But that's just me. :-)

Depends on what type of Scotch is in the cabinet.

good perspective. From the few 18's I've seen on E9's, most don't look half bad.

Whew. At least mine are replicas so they aren't expensive.

But nonetheless, most coupe owners would give up an arm and a leg for a nice set of 16" Alpinas. :-D
