I took this photo last year after Ofest in Colorado.
I was traveling around and visiting some cousins.
I was told about this road by one of my older cousins and she told me I should have a look at it before I drive my coupe across it.
It was a composite road. Gravel with a oil/tar type substance sprayed on it over the years to keep the dust down and also keep the rocks in place.
Since my coupe had a new engine and drive train but the body had not been done yet I decided to try a few miles.
It runs along the Colorado River off of I-70 and goes north to Kremmling CO where I wanted to go. It really wasn't bad so I drove over 20 miles along the river late in the afternoon and I stopped many times along the way for some photo ops including a partial rainbow.
The road came out on a paved road at the top. I drove about a mile and found this view as the sun was setting. That is Breckenridge over 50 miles away in the back ground. I did wash my car the next day.
This photo won best of show and best in the BMW at Rest category this year at Ofest.
I was my Christmas card photo last year.
So again, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my brothers and sisters that own classic BMW's. Hope the 100th year of BMW will be a good one.
