Metric sheet metal screws

Any one know where to buy them? These would be the ones that would secure the door pulls to the door, for example. Probably a lot more around the car. Only some of them can be ordered from BMW (if you can identify them from the parts fiche) but a lot are NLA.

A Google search was surprisingly thin on prospects, I only found one place that was a remote possibility.

Also, what is the metric sizing convention?

If you are talking about the 4 large ones that hold the piece to the door panel I would take one to the metric section of your local Ace Hardware and see what they have. Maybe the others also.

Without a doubt, belmetric.com is the place to go for all metric needs. You can get the size from the parts diagram or if not listed, hopefully you have another fastener to measure.

Thanks guys, excellent info, exactly what I was looking for! I knew the info was out there someplace. Now what will I do with the other 98 left over screws when I'm finished? :lol:

+1 on Belmetric, just got a delivery from them yesterday. If you are ever looking for yellow zinc fasteners and they don't have them I got some from here:

Eagleday is a good source for smaller hex head bolts but their gold color is way too bright.
