Is Coker Tire the only place to get these tires? Their prices are just crazy!!! I read on the Ferrari forum that Jegs screwed up last year and a few folks bought them online for super cheap, but they soon figured out what went horribly wrong and fixed it.

Pretty much and yeah Coker is crazy.

I know I pay crazy money for new P-Zeros which can't be fixed under any circumstances. So much for driving a Porsche to a construction site resulting in 24 screws in one tire! The service guys and I had a big ol laugh that day.

Looking for stock E9 or Ferrari?

I have a low mileage set... that will be available sometime soon.

Real nice vintage look-alike tires, but far away to expensive :-(
I think you pay for the vintage design (ballon tire) together with brand, and not for the performance of the tire.

Thanks, that is what I figured. Yes, I have 2 CSL's under construction and since I am such a purist, I just have to have those tires on the car! If you are willing to part with your set, I am definitely interested. The XWX was pretty decent tire in it's day, but is crap for today's standards and $540 per tire is just stupid money for a mediocre tire. Beside the fact that they are so much money, Coker really only caters to the Ferrari crowd with these tires. The correct size for a CSL is 195-70-14 and Coker only offers the 205-70-14 for the Dino crowd!!! Not that there is too much difference, but hey I am a nut for details!

XWX are second to none

I have them on about 10 classic cars of which half are E9s.
They look and perform fantastically.
I pay about 2.000 per set of 4. They last much longer than the usual 3-5 years, if the cars don´t spend too much time in the direct sun.
www.longstonetyres.co.uk will send them free of charge, at least in Europe.
And they will see fresh tyres, no older than 6 months.
I have a couple of E9s on 16" wheels with modern tyres, but feel that the mid 60s suspension of the E9 perform much better on full size XWX than the low profile rubber.
The steering arms last much longer with thinner tyres.
I know it´s a very personal choice. I just said what I use and like.

not just the ferrari crowd

Lots of 60-70 sport coupes use that size. I have a new set on my xke (yes, ouch). Either you need them for concours points or you're like me & enjoy the vintage feel of old technology (makes driving tail out easier at reasonable speeds). Check out Vredestien Sprint Classics, Maybe they have it in the right size.

Imagine if you needed 19's for your old MG TA (19 x 135) ...
