So far all my adventures have been with a 'Derby' 1967 BMW 1600 and a 1973 Schwarz 2002 name 'Tesoro'. I did stop by the Bonham's Preview at The Quail Wednesday the 22nd to see the 1934 BMW 315/1 with a 319/1 engine which has been dubbed 'The Green Hornet'. Photo of me in the car is by BMW Pete.

To get back to E9s, stopped by OCCoupe's and saw HB Chris's coupe and met Lloyd yesterday after the Pacific Grove Little Car Show.

And for those East Coasters who might have come out to drive Hwy 1? We were stymied by a jack-knifed big rig just above Ragged Point, the start of the twisties and climbing and had to backtrack. What a bummer, that makes it three years in a row. Fire, mudslide and now an accident.

Nikon D5 with 2x adapter on 800 mm lens (1600 mm). Manual focus. Shutter priority set to 1250 at ISO 800.

So basically I look out the window, find the target, point, focus, fire!

Actually that shot is a bit out of focus due to the haze caused by the California fires. Sorry for the folks who are suffering loss due to those fires.

Very interesting. Thank you. And what distance/altitude was that shot from?

About 250 miles. I was pretty close to overhead for that photo.
A photograph taken from 250 miles away with a 35mm digital camera that could be bought on amazon - although obviously I imagine this one was highly tweaked for this job. That is simply mind blowing when you think about it.
Now if we could get a few more pics from ground level from those who are there as well that would be equally awesome. ;-)

Several coupes at Legends. Stan would be happy that the Chamonix/Red CS won the Coupe Class.

Yesterday was my day at Laguna Seca. Good to see and catch up with Steve Walker & met a few new friends . Sam Smith was driving the 25 CSL. Sam flew out Paul Wegweiser, Art’s son, for the weekend with Carl Nelson & Ben Thongsai.

Awesome pics Andrew! Thank you.

Funny to see what looks like a brand new 8 series under the BMW Classic banner...

Also, a separate thread was discussing the headers clearance issue in the coupe. Looking at the #25 engine bay, all that needs to be done is mount the motor straight up instead of slanted and voila, all the room you need for any headers shape you want.
