The car has been running most excellently for several years now, zero issues. This morning I took it up to the grocery store, let it warm up completely on the way. It re-started there with no problem, drove home and put it in the driveway to be put away later. Smelled a slight wiff of fuel on the way back but it too disappeared by the time I got home. About ten miles round trip.
THis afternoon, I went to start it and put it in the garage. Cranked a number of times with no starting. I finally gave it a shot of ether and it fired right up. But then lost revs and started to stumble at like just above stall speed, regardless of the throttle position. Tried again a number of times but the same result. Really smooth for the first few seconds, ran right up to 3,000 RPM no problem, then drops quickly and continues to stumble 'till it finally quits.
Any suggestions on where to begin?
Also, I've got a 123 dizzy. A number of you have said you've had problems with it. It doesn't feel like an ignition problem as it revs smoothly when it gets going but you never know. How does it manifest itself when it starts to go wrong?
