Gentlemen,

So I've been chasing down the no-op ~everything on this project 3.0, and I found a odd relay under the dash. I've included a picture of it. One issue is that it seems to have an empty connector on the right side, leading me to believe that's an issue. Can anyone comment?

Secondly, I found this little twisty cable guy under the carpet. Not sure what that should connect to or if it's for this car. Could someone identify it for me?

Thanks!

E

The cable is for your trip odometer, it attaches to speedo and bracket mounts to panel under column where hood release door retainer attaches. As to the relay, there should be a thin black wire with a blue stripe attached to that terminal, the wire is in the same taped harness as the other wires to that relay.

So here's a picture of the knob and of the end of the cable. Looks like it's a twisty-adjuster for something?

Is your CS a late '72 or newer?
If so, maybe it is the relay for the seat belt light on top of the dash?

It is a 1972, but I don't think I have any lights on top of the dash. I will give it another look. There doesn't appear to be any wires around the seat belt area, but who knows if they were removed at some point.

Did US coupes come with a seat belt buzzer, to go with the 'FASTEN SEAT BELTS' pod on the dash. If so that relay could be built into that system and have been disconnected because it's so annoying.

So this was actually a euro market car, so I imagine you guys nailed it on the head.

That is the wiper interval relay, every coupe has one. If you slide it out you can read the other side. No seat belt warning relay was ever that big, look at how many wires it has.
