here is link to more photos when i had a chance to take a close look at the undercarriage when the car went in for the importation inspection. the car failed because of worn down brake pads, torn tire and a corroded exhaust section. otherwise its in good condition. only very small area of rust behind front wheel arches. seems to be a right angle piece of metal that has a trailing lip that catches water and can imagine when the car is driving it doesnt dry out. anyway not significant and hasnt rust through so will coat with rubberised compound. all in all, pretty easy fixes.
the structure of these cars are pretty flimsy. when it was hoisted, it wasnt possible to open the driver door as the flex of the body caused the door to be wedged shut.
