I have been using Bosch Platinum +2 spark plugs with my wasted spark coil pack type EFI and have a set of Bosch WR 9 LS Silvers I want to try. What gap would be appropriate? What do the MS controlled systems use?

Thanks,

Doug

Edit:

Further digging in older posts (MMercury and others with lots of info) suggests .030 so that will be the starting point.

.028- the wasted spark setup will widen that pretty quickly. You will trade off gap for spark voltage and duration.
Have you seen how white hot the spark is with your new coils?

Pretty wild.

Thanks Don, I'll try that - curious to see if there is any difference versus the hi tech twin electrode Platinums.

Don, what do you mean here? Because there is an extra spark the electrode will simply wear faster, thereby increasing the gap?

The smaller the gap the lower the voltage & duration? Takes less voltage to jump a smaller gap.

plug should last 1/2 as long because there is 2x more sparks.
plug should last shorter with hotter spark
plug should last shorter with longer spark duration
gaps get bigger with use- so start small and end up right.
