Last weekend the Green Mountain Chapter of the BMW CCA held their annual OctoberFast. It is an all-German car weekend. Friday events included a variety of ralleys, my favorite was the scavenger-hunt fun ralley. 125miles through the twisty back roads near Montpelier VT. Saturday was a show and shine then Sunday auto cross. John H (I can't spell his name, check the Green Mountain CCA website) did a terrific job organizing.

Now the exciting part; There were ver 100 cars on display and 5 were coupes!!!! One of these babies came in an enclosed trailer. Malaga with tan leather and 5,500 original miles!!! A true time capsule.

I will try to post some pics when I have a chance

Stan, its nice to know that there are well-kept jewels out there. 5500K! That's even lower than Joe Bortolussi's 10,000K car.

5500 K must be lowest on planet!!!??? Also must be a museum piece. It would be interesting to know provenance. Be a buddy...Post those pics when you can!!

Thanks!!

five coupes! that must be every single one in upper new england.
ahhhh! i was going to make the short drive over for the event... but wait, i have to work. nobody will be there anyway with the bavauto show'n'shine going on at the same time, right? stupid job.

i guess that i'll finally put a face to stan and others at some future date.

Yup, I was there too, with my euro 73, and it was great to see the turn out. The 73 malage trailer queen was all stock, and had been in storage for the past 15 years. The owner reportedly is a private collector, living up in St. Albans VT. He didn't even come to the show; his maintenance guy brought it down. Also was a trailer queen Isetta too.

Too bad we had rain about midway thru, as it damped the spirit.

Strong turn out by the Ass-Engined-Nazi-Slotcar (aka 911) crowd.

Low mileage CS's

Don Crevier--the successor head of Crevier BMW has a very low mileage CS as well--his Father and Uncle had started same in about 1966 in Santa Ana CA and today Crevier BMW is reputed to be the largest "Retailer" in the US--and they have just completed a $25,000,000 expansion of facilities--The real point--

Crevier has a 1974 3.0 CS that is regularly displayed on their showroom floor with 4,300 original miles--possibly the lowest in the country--they had originally sold it to a local person in 1974--it was rarely driven and they followed it for years--then re-purchased same a few years ago when the elderly owner had to give up her drivers license.

An aside--for OctoberFest in 2004 I persuade Don to have the Coupe trailered to Pasadena for display--then proceeded to park the BLUMAX nose to nose with a sign--"Which Has The Lower Mileage" and believe it or not there was confusion--BLUMAX then had about 400,000 miles.
