Thanks Scott! Not ideal but the market spoke and that's what it said the car was worth. I do think the 85k Ultralight sale in Monterey didn't help at all...
Quick update. The car is going to the Netherlands to a gentleman that's been dreaming of getting a CSL for a few years. When I contacted him he said, and I quote "I'm the happiest man on the world". And he had a bit of a cry. In today's world when it seems (to me at least) like there's not much genuine happiness around, it's nice to play a part in that for someone.
It was interesting as the non-original 3.2l Bat motor was a bit of a drawback to some but it was a real attraction for him as he wants to put the BaT mobile kit on it, so the front dam and 3.2 bat motor were all pluses.
So the cars all packed up. He bought all my additional D-Jet parts and various restoration bits that I had collected so it's a bit of a clean sweep which is nice.

As an observer watching from the sidelines.. it seems to me the initial BaT results were frustrating for you... but BaT auction had a silver lining and got your car in front of a wider audience, and this enabled you to connect with the next owner for this beautiful piece of machinery.
The emotional reaction you describe and the sense of doing good in the world is very admirable.
Congratulations on completing the sale.. so perhaps in the future.. we might see a new project log ?

I sold my Giulietta Sprint on BaT a few weeks ago, and it also is going to the Netherlands. Strong Euro. Buyer is happy and will do the Mille Miglia with it (he is a sponsor so he can actually get in with such an ordinary car, otherwise it would be a long shot for a non-Italian to get in with that car).
