Hello all!

My name is Joeri Dosse, I'm new here and just bought myself an E9 project car. (for 12500 euro... aaarggghhh what have I done) After owning a '84 635 CSi I decided that I wanted something faster with a lot of electrical toys... and bought a '91 Mercedes 500SL... Big big mistake, very fast, not round corners though and not much fun with permanent traction control and especially not much fun when driving it to the dealer because the air suspension has died... Anyways I was in luck and someone bought that hell car and now I've spend it all on a new project.

The car is totally stript down to the chassis. All rusted areas have been replaced or repared and its getting a respray this week. I've made some pictures of it before respray... I do wonder what you guys think, honest opinions please!!!

Joeri,

Welcome to the group! There are loads of us in here who have stood in the same position as you and wondered if you have done the right thing. You have!

Many of the people on here are very very good. Lots of experience and technical knowledge. I am not too good mechanically or technically, and find this group a very good place to be.

Ask as many questions as you need. Post losts of pictures and let us see how your car is getting on.

There was a chap - Vincent - who was based in the Netherlands and had a CS. He had his own website about his coupe. He may be near to you.

Good luck with the project!

You have taken on a lot of work, have you done the right thing? Damn right you have, the sheer pleasure you will get from owning and driving one of the most beautiful cars ever made is something that can't be described. Well done and welcome.
