Mystery mirror?

Had this mirror come with a spare door for my CS. Seems very well made and solid, chrome is good, seems it is BMW fitment but aftermarket, any ideas what it is? Looks 80's to me.

There were electrically controlled rear view mirrors for the 3.0 S models, this looks like one of those, with part of the housing painted. The apparent match of the base is what suggests this. They may be occasionally available, or maybe W&N have them, dunno.
 
You're right Teahead, those are not the E3 mirrors, I have them fitted to my car. The ebay link shows the correct ones.
