Not sure what you were trying to find out about. The M30 series (same as originally installed) has decades of improvements and behavior observation.
Change the oil, set the valve clearance, and drive. These things don't give up.

I drove the car a number of times already and felt the engine is not smooth running....a understand the seller took some time to get the engine right and he blamed the airflow....l just noticed some small leaks and l ought to send to the workshop to check it out!

As others have said. A great engine for that car and basically the same engine that came in the car. Just some bigger pistons or longer stroke.

It does need maintenance just like any engine.
Air leaks can occur from the hoses and vacuum lines.
The lines get old and crack just like we do. :o
The AFM or air flow meter can have some problems and needs to be checked.
Injectors can get stopped up, the fuel pressure can be low, sensors for fuel enrichment and warm-up can and will cause running issues.
These are some of the smoothest running BMW motors ever made so if yours is running rough then something is amiss.
I have this same engine in an 84 533i. It has 312,000 miles on it and will start right up and always has. It just has to be maintained.

Just be careful asking about wiring,fitment or transmission questions, you will be meet with a lot of resistance.
