I threw in the towel on my E-9 substituting cash for a new house purchase and multiple projects. I was left with multiple boxes of parts that I now need to determine value and now to sell.

I'm attaching a few pictures of what I have, possibly the most valuable?? But I have no idea what I have in way of the rubber parts, nor what any of these may be worth. Nor do I know why the PO had this sub frame nor light assembly. I have to think that each of these have value/interest to the E9 community, and would certainly appreciate honest feedback as to values and the best way to market everything.

This is the first time that I have actually started to look at all the stuff he gave me and I am surprised at how much i have and almost everything is new in boxes. Numerous tune up kits (points, distributor caps, plugs), a wire ignition set, two valve gaskets; three oil filters and plugs; four air filters; two clutch cylinders; driveshaft and other busing mounts; an old distributor; a clutch assembly; brake pads; fuel filter. So the question is how best to get these to the right enthusiast with both parties getting a fair deal?

I'd certainly be interested in some of your parts for sure.
Driveshaft for manual trans. Trunk panels, trunk storage cubby, lower dash and glovebox door pieces and driver's door wood piece.

Thanks!
Steve

Hi Frankie,

I am interested in the hood and fender slats. If you send me pics of what you have, I can host large format pics for you, and recommend some prices. I search for parts every day. For instance, the tail light is worth $300 used, more if NOS.

Let me know if I can help. I wont make any offers until the group sees the lot.

I'm looking for:
dash wood
fuse box panel
carpet set
door handles
every rubber body seal imaginable
center console

rear badge (looks like you have one)...

oh regarding marketing. I think eBay is *your best bet. Ideally, you sell it here first (for us:D).

i totally agree - a used tail light is NOT worth 300 bucks - perhaps a pair is worth that much. it would have to be absolutely perfect chrome and perfect lenses. the last price from tomkinson for new was 464 bucks ... not sure still available though.

Tails are no longer available (according to this site). You can find used tails on eBay in the US for $200 if you take your time. They are frequently listed for $300 though. EBay.de has them for around $150 plus shipping, if you can get a us shipment. Perhaps the regulars in CA are selling them for less. I hope so. Everything I've seen under $200 has some issues on.the back side of the lens.

I thought the grill slats were NOS, but I see now that they aren't.

If that is a brand new hubcap, there is surely some one who wants it. Got to RealOEM to get a rough price. If that tail light is new and simply has a dirty protective cover on it,it will be worth $300.00 or more if it is the complete unit.
Better photos help.

NOS maintenance items such as oil/air filters, ignition tuneup items will not bring much value as most are readily available now and are fairly inexpensive plus along with warranties. If you have a fair amount of good to excellent condition interior and exterior trim parts, then you may have a potential gold mine. The taillight lens imo is in very poor condition and may fetch $100-$125 at most. Brand new hubcaps are not worth very much as there is no market for them. They are still available from BMW and fairly cheap at that.

Clean the dust and grime off the tail..that will help set the value. Also, snap pics of the back side.

Marcos. Good idea- and I was actually working on that as I wanted to see what type of shape it actually was once the grime was removed. It's not perfect, but appears to be in pretty good shape. (Certainly better than when I pulled it from the box!)

And it looks like this is what I need to do with any of the parts that may have value- though I am still trying to determine which ones do.

On the rubber pieces, how will I know which windows or doors they are too and value. As they are used, without putting an eye to each section of it, it seems a risky proposition for any potential purchaser

BTW, I think that there is only one broken slat- and it may have broken while in the box as the small piece was in the wrapping but they are definitely not NOS. Maybe those photos will be my next project....

And to clarify condition a bit better .. I would say that there is slight pitting that you can feel with your fingertip. Someone had asked about the condition of the lenses and I hadn't even checked the plastic for cracking until asked and as I held it up to the light, there is a slight crack on the red lens, just above the red rectangle portion of about 2 inches.
