I learned today a friend has a 3.0CSi and he asked if I know of a source to rebuild his brain. I know nothing about this as my 2800 has dual webers and my Tii has nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Can it even be rebuilt or does he need another box?

He is in NJ but I would take suggestions anywhere.

Thanks,

NF

IIRC, there is someone that services (or used to service) Djet "brains". It was mentioned here once, but not having a Djet car, I only scanned rather than recorded the source.

Perhaps using the Search function, as we all should before we post, will prove useful.

Failing that, Volvo, Volkswagen and others (Porsche?) used Djet. Forums for those cars could prove useful.

ECU Repair

http://www.ecudoctors.com/

At $350, it depends on your wallet and expectations for plug and play.

Besides used Ebay and some our supplier's like 02 salvage, there's megasquirt 1 which seems very affordable and convenient now that thay build boxes with the correct connectors set up. I know of some earlier 3.5s that used just the ecu to fire injectors and to me that looks like a viable solution for some owners. There's been several discussions here. I think David with Toy Store is your west coast guy.

First Fives, Peter Florance, in NC was selling special set ups. Might try to get in touch with him on that board for help.

Volvo 164E also used D-Jet, and that was even a 6-cylinder. Probably the most prevalent car with D-Jet is the Porsche 914, but that's a 4-banger.

Robert at Fuel Injection Corporation rebuilds them.
Great people to deal with.

How does he know he needs a new brain (waiting for punch line...)? The brain boxes are pretty durable units- usually the culprit is another part(s) of the system.

I would make sure you established the brain is the problem- how was that done?
