I'm researching some google search results for my company and would like anyone out of CA to search "autogator" and either give me a screen shot of the results or tell me where the autogator.com website ends up on the list.

Anyone else use Google Adwords?

Dan, searched autogator. It came up first on my google search. Steve

Is that what you wanted to know?

If you ever want any search engine optimization advice let's link up one of these days for coffee. My mom is up in Lincoln, and I can always find a good reason to drive up to see her.

I'm a marketing and operations guy for a large auto group, so I've learned how to make things show up on the google machine.

Anytime! I just took over the Marketing and IT/computer stuff from a guy who left the company, plus still buying cars all day long. I'm trying to learn adwords well enough to understand how the company that they pay to manage it uses it. So far I've come up with a few things that don't make sense... like paying for a campaign for Autogator terms, basically displaying an ad above our organic placement that users click on, costing us money. Without the ad they would see our website first on the list anyway. We also run campaigns for our car buying, parts, repairable vehicles and general branding. $10k/mo spending, which I'm starting to reduce or redirect.

Awesome. I'll PM you next time I'm heading up that way. I think I'm going up there around June 6th, so if it isn't too warm out I'll take my Coupe.

What company do you use to manage your adwords?

You always want to run a campaign for your own name, with a fairly aggressive bid strategy. The actual dollar spend should be fairly low, even if the CPC is on the high side. If you don't do this, you'll find out that you'll show up organically well, but then some a hole like me will come along, and buy your name as a keyword, and try to poach customers with a more compelling ad copy. I do it ALL THE TIME with lease offers, and it pisses off the other guys in my area.

Also, when checking SEO, you can either run a proxy, or more easily type in your search query, then to the right of the search box click "search tools" and change the location. Google will then adjust the results to show you what their algorithm thinks is relevant to your search based on the new location. Something like your name probably wont change, but thinks like "salvage auto parts" will be wildly different.
