Need ID on the tach wire

I am looking for information on the wire for the stock tach in my 73 3.0cs.

1) is there a standard color used ? what is it ?

2) which side of the coil was it hooked to? + -

3) is the tach a voltage triggered or a current triggered ?


I have 2 different wires and I don't want to pull out the tach to look.

I have installed a MSD system and the tach does not work. I need to use a tach adapter to splice in the tach wire to convert the signal.
