They are same, in fact you can use e12 or early e24, the only difference is the plug. The e12 has the ground wire as part of the plug, on the e9 it is free, easy to adapt.

Hmmm... I have an e12 motor. The little rubber mount is oriented differently, but I'll try it out

I have one also and never noticed the mount, just the electrical plug.
Ok, I got the e12 motor in. Had to relocate the male plug on the motor, and snake a ground wire in the middle of the plug.
