Last week I went to start my 73 Bavaria and it was dead. I checked the voltage and it showed about 7 volts. I hooked up my charger and it said battery was sulfated. Did some research on that and decided since the battery was over 4 years old it was time for a new one. I did some research and found Home Depot had the right size battery for the car in the Exide Max brand. It had 650 CCA. Other auto parts store were selling similar batteries for $149 and up. The Home Depot battery was $109 with your old battery. Not bad. I think it was size 47.

Costco does not show batteries on-line but do have them.......Interstate for 100 bucks. Same stats...probably the same battery too.

Yes, contact Don- He strongly suggest the original battery which is available from the dealer. It's not cheap but what is, for E9's. I got one and it works well and fits and the injection DME seems to like the steady current off of them....
