Hello all-
I've been in contact recently with 'Esty' regarding making new carpet kits for our beloved coupes.
I know many have already purchased carpet from World Upholstery, but Esty makes, (in the opinion of hundreds of 02'ers and others), a superior product at a better price. Plus, she's a small operation, a solid gal and drives a BMW 2002.
Check out her work here: http://estycarpet.blogspot.com/
The main difference that I like and want in my coupe is the plastic footpad used on the driver's side...
It looks original, not like the vinyl slab with diamond stitching that W.U. uses.
So, I'm trying to get the ball rolling with Esty to produce e9 carpet sets.
The problem we are facing is that my '74 coupe did not have any carpet when I got it, and Esty has not been able to get hold of an old set from which to make patterns.
I'm reaching out to see if anyone has old carpet laying around to either loan, rent or sell so that Esty can precisely reproduce new carpet kits for our cars?
Or, is any one in LA area willing to assist on this endeavor and hook-up in person?
I strongly feel that this is a better end-product than the other currently available carpet sets.
Any assistance is appreciated! Even if we can piecemeal together a complete set that would be great.
Thanks in advance!
Steve
