New exhaust on

I had a hole in my muffler on my '70 2800CS. I answered a craigslist ad years ago from a guy who advertised for free a coupe muffler and tailpipe. Went and picked it up and all seemed OK. Took it to a 4th generation exhaust shop and glad that I did. He said the muffler I brought was not the same size as the one on the car. After close to 4 hours on the lift, and some crafty fabrication, they made it fit perfectly including new hangers and hardware. I realize this is not quote an OEM install, but it looks, sounds and performs great. Oh and by the way, it was only a $150.00 bill...

After close to 4 hours on the lift, ..... it was only a $150.00 bill...

Four hours of work for $150 is a heck of a deal.

You may have gotten a system for a 3.0 or for an e3 - they are close, but there are some detail differences.

The pipe diameter was larger on the 3.0CS systems.

The factory 2800CS exhaust systems parts became NLA years ago.

E3 sedan rear mufflers are quite different.
