new flag mirror gasket

guys,

anybody have some good advice on how to get a new flag mirror gasket around the flag mirror base ... so that it can be put on the car? my hands are hurting from trying to get it fitted.

Heat gun/hair drier to warm it up- then hurry!

the gasket is very tight around the base, yes, i found some NOS gaskets and they worked well, nevertheless i had to preinstall them out from the car and them go to the door to finally fix the mirror there
