Hello-

I just purchased my first E9 on BaT (link below). It was restored by another e9coupe member in 2010. I have not received the car yet, but will likely have a lot of questions. Thanks in advance.

You are welcome, we have may professional friend/member, they are all very nice people I believe you will get all the help you need the same way they helped me when I was new and didn't know much about E9, however congratulation on you new car, it is fun and very nice car you will enjoy any time you drive.

Suggestions…

get a new icv hose, a correct battery hold down, correct battery ground, two body plugs for the firewall, a real TB adjustment screw, correct spacers for your strut tops.
you might consider installing an earlier oil filter canister and inquiring minds want to know what that small hose is doing at the top of your throttle body. There is an extra bolt installed in your plenum going into a blind hole. The whole ICV setup can be be simplified without the extra brackets. You could use some fresh hardware on your zee bars and remove the extra AC fitting on your oil pan. All those rusty hose clamps and fuel line splices under your car are not a good idea. The factory one piece fuel pipe is available for under 100 bucks.

you might want to reach out to other coupe owners in Denver- let me know if you want contact info. BTW- I sell those body plugs that are missing on your firewall.
1.00 each plus shipping.

The missing back of door seals are available and lower door seals are available.
while you are there - install the missing screw.

There is a coolant hose that you may want to replace with a correctly shaped one.

Thanks for the warm welcome and input.

sfdon - you've got a keen and, obviously, well-trained eye. I will take a look at all those areas when I get the car in a few weeks. I will take you up on those plugs. Also, where do you recommend procuring parts? I was specifically wondering about those door seals.

Thanks-
Scott

I have much of what you need. Go to the dealer in Denver and order part #

it is the fuel return pipe you need to get rid of all those fuel hose splices and hose clamps that are under your car.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the E9 club! I'm also in Denver and look forward to seeing you and your new coupe at a future event - Ceylon will be a welcome addition to the local E9 color spectrum!
