Hello to all,

I recently bought and received my new E9 purchased on this forum from Walter in NC. Thanks Walter for the painless transaction and your help with shipping.
Currently working on a restoration plan which I anticipate starting this spring. Way too cold in my garage right now.
This site is a great pool of info and I admire all that contribute and share valuable tips.

Below are some pictures i took the rainy day it arrived.

Cheers to all..

Congrats

You beat me to the punch. I suppose that's what I get for hesitating but glad to see it go to a good home and a member of this forum.

Welcome Victor. There are now 4 Torontonians I know of on the forum, (1 still looking for a Coupe). Post some more photos when you get a chance and let us know what your restoration plans are.

Will do thanks Bob.

Right now just compiling as much info as possible on the coupe and figuring out which direction to take it.
Researched the '02s for years but when when it came time to put money into it I fell for the coupe.

Cheers.

Welcome. I recommend an inexpensove propane heater. Noisy but toasty. With those long Toronto winters you won't have much time for your project. Even here in SE PA with Global Warming we are facing a week of 30 degrees and lower daytime highs.

Yeah we finally got some proper cold just yesterday. Should be about 8F all week. Will go to the garage and check on the heating today. I have got nothing done on my Coupe in a month or more. Wish I could heat the darn place with Nat Gas or Propane.

surfacing lurker

Hello out there,
Been around this site for a while learning about the car and a bit about the market movement. The target is a 3.0CS and ultimately a CSL (most likely non-BAT). Depending on what I run into I suppose the CSL could appear sooner rather than later.

I've sensed that there is growing interest in the E9 in all forms and prices are moving up, but at a reasonable pace unlike some of the high end cars I just saw sell in Scottsdale.

Which brings me to a question. Not a word in this forum about the Series 1 BAT which sold last weekend at Russo for $160k before fees. I would have guessed there would be back and forth on this sale in here. Is it typical to see CSLs trade so no big deal?

I'm a car guy, have had 5 BMWs but no vintage BMW iron. I'm smitten by the E9. Thanks from KC and DFW (split allegiance). Brian

I am split between starting to tear it down and waiting for spring so that I can drive the nice Caledon Roads. I also wanted to bring it to Marcus Glarner to have a look before I do anything. A local BMW mechanic referred me to him. Have you dealt with Marcus at all. Thanks in advance

I second the Propane heater, they work great.I just fire it up for a couple minutes at a time and your able to work in a long sleeve.I have a 3 car garage and temps have been around the low teens at night. And Victor if it were me I would drive it alittle before tearing it down just so you can enjoy it!

Thanks Tim. I may just do that. I will save the propane heater for next winter, by then I expect to be deep into it. I hope!!

Cheers

I'd highly recommend Marcus Glarner as the best local guy to check out your Coupe.

Parts Order into Canada

Hi Bob,

My rust quest has started and yes I was not surprised after all the horror stories on this site. Complete new rocker assembly, A and B post bases, floor pans etc...

I was wondering if you have ordered parts from WN before and if it is a good palce to get them, but more importantly what the procedure is for importation into Canada.

I will be starting a new restoration thread soon to show off the carnage as well as the bucket of beach sand I reteived from all the secret coupe hiding spots.
