I have been looking for a Recaro desk chair for my home office on and off for years. They are hard to find and expensive when you do and I certainly didn't want to pay to ship one. Last Friday night I was roaming around on Facebook Marketplace (addictive) and I finally found one in my absolute favorite Recaro pattern. I reached out to the lady selling to see if it was actually a desk chair or a car seat that someone mounted to a seat base. She said she bought it for her husband at an office store 48 years ago. I didn't hesitate, I was out there the next morning. Amazing couple, amazing house, amazing property, and an amazing shop full of cars. She's 86 and he's 90 and he's still building hotrods. He gave me a complete tour of the shop, and went through details on each car which include a 32 roadster with a flathead, a 32 roadster with a small block chevy, a 32 all steel chop top that he's half way through, a 52 Mercury with suicide doors, and a 64 Corvette roadster. I could have spent the whole day talking to the guy.
