Team, the previous owner of my 71 3.0CS has a new set of original tires still in their wraps. He bought them in hopes of making his coupe a concourse car (15+ years ago).
That isn't goin to happen. He lives in San Jose. He has offered them to me but I would like to offer them to someone interested in showing their car. Anyone with a concourse level car interested?

My 72 Bavaria came with (what I think is) the original Michelin 175-14 X.

Not rotten. It must have been in the trunk most of the time.

Probably has Munich air in it ;)

When it comes to true Concours, most recognize that safety is a major consideration. The MBCA runs a true concours and they allow seatbelts and third brake lights in a 50s 300sl. I don’t believe they are concerned with period correct date codes. The BMW CCA certainly isn’t.

They are from the 70's. He had a nice car collection so I'm guessing they in mint condition.

That's funny Dick. I once had a new Alfa Romeo 164. First time I took in in for new tires, I asked the technician if he could remove the factory Italian air from the "spent" tires, and reinstall into the new Pirellis. Never have seen quite that look ever before, or since, for that matter.

Gary,
I remember that Pirelli tread pattern on the '70 2800CS I bought in '73. You could 'almost' feel the individual blocks of rubber contacting the road!

i love these tires, they are ungodly expensive, but if you are going with original size wheels ... they are the right choice. they also look amazing
