New rescued coupe

new coupe

Hello All,
I thought I would give you an update. I bought a 71 CS out of Oklahoma this week with some help from Dave in NC. Pictures will be coming but here is a brief run down. I bought it from the original owners brother, the car has been in a barn for 25 years. The mice have chewed most all the wires. When I bought it we noticed some bubbling on the rocker covers and in turn I expected some rust. Once back in NM I pulled the rocker panels off and to my amazment the is not any rust on the rockers, the covers had rust but nothing on the car itself. The passenger door does have some rust but the rest of the car is virgin. The undercarriage looks amazing!
The car has 56K original miles and it is an auto for now although a 3.5 and 5 speed are coming soon. The car is also an original paint car and it look pretty darn good the original color is schwartz black with black interior. I will post pics soon,
H

Congrads on your find!Sounds like a good one! Can't wait to see some pictures. Tim

good on ya, mate

though I would refrain energetically from black on black (hot here in the tropix).

I hope the apparent lack of corrosion is real, I'm looking at a parts car 2800 that has got hideous tinworm issues. I'll be parting it on this list after I grab one or two bits from it. I guess I ought to look at the outer rocker panels, but my expectation based on the largish holes elsewhere is that they will have been toasted long ago.
