I had Cocomats in my 74 2002 when it was brand new and they didn't look like these, don't know when the Campaign of Colors began or even what it was.

Back in the 1970's-80's I was the GM at Auto Haus in SoCal. It was a VW performance chain and one of the items we sold were Coco Mats. I do remember these but they were never popular.

We also carried the traditional Coco and Sisal in several colors. Retail may have been around $25 for a set back then.

Today cocomats.com offers a great product but the price is just a bit more. I have a set of Sisal in one of my hot rod VWs and just did a complete set of Coco Mats in our Bavaria including the trunk. Cost was close to $500.

I got a stack of those when I bought the inventory from the defunct BMW dealer. I think they may be 80s style.

I put a set of the regular cocomats in my coupe. They are period correct, protect the carpet and provide some additional sound and heat insulation on the floor.
